Bata Activities
We offer a variety of activities in different cities of Equatorial Guinea. Get acquainted with the beautiful places, hidden gems and local traditions with us.
All these activities are guided and include permits, tickets and transportation. We require a minimum of four people for each regular activity and a maximum of four people for trekking in Bata.
Safety Warnings
Participants are encouraged to wear long-sleeved sportswear.
Clothing in light or bright colors (e.g. white, yellow, and red) is not recommended in the rainforest. Instead, opt for more neutral greens, browns, and blacks.
For footwear, Wellington boots are optimal to keep your feet dry and avoid animal bites.
We reserve the right to cancel an activity in the event of non-compliance.

Experience the beauty of nature as you glide through the lush mangrove forests on a breathtaking traditional canoe ride, surrounded by stunning flora and fauna. Keep your eyes peeled for a chance to glimpse the elusive blue toucans, mischievous monkeys, or even the slithering snakes that occasionally cross the river.
Once you reach the farm, you’ll find yourself in the capable hands of a Combe family, one of the top five ethnic groups in Equatorial Guinea, who run the farm with utmost care and dedication. You’ll be greeted warmly by the family, who are proud of their heritage as one of the top five ethnic groups in Equatorial Guinea.
They will be happy to show you around and share their way of life with you, as you learn about their traditions and anecdotes of running a farm. Don’t miss the opportunity to try some sweet sugar cane, juicy coconuts, or delicious mangoes!

Starting from the Liberty Tower at Bata’s promenade, you will have the opportunity to explore some of the city’s most iconic and historically significant landmarks. Each of these locations offers a fascinating and profound insight into the city’s rich history and vibrant culture, making them indispensable attractions for any visitor looking to delve into the heart of Bata.

Mecuyo
The Mecuyo dance holds a special place in the traditions of the Combe ethnic group. Known as “El Mecuyo,” this dance is an exclusive gathering for men, taking place only on Sundays and lasting between three and four hours, always concluding before sunset. The dance involves three main characters, each distinguished by their masks. The man and woman wear white masks, while the abuser wears a black one. This vibrant and rhythmic cultural expression is a truly captivating and visually stunning experience that showcases the rich heritage of the Combe ethnic group.
